"It's been a long day without you, my friend/And I'll tell you all about it when I see you again" - See You Again by Wiz Khalifa ft. Charlie Puth

You probably recognize those lyrics if you've seen the most recent Fast & Furious movie. Tough situations arise almost constantly in life and sometimes we just have to push through it and stay positive. These last couple of weeks proved to be a series of trials and tribulations but with good friends and some good food, we can always get through the day! I was once told that if your heart has sunken, you have to eat until your stomach is full so that your stomach can help support your heart and push it back up. Now, I don't know about you but that sure gives me a reason to eat even more!

Some notables from the time I have been gone include brunch at Seven Lions, a kimchi burger from Rice N' Bread, sushi from Juno, brunch at Kanela Breakfast Club, seafood at Angry Crab, high tea at the Allis and gelato from Amorino. Ramen has also been a big part of my diet but that is quite normal. We will address that in a different post.

This was the crab cake benedict at Seven Lions and I have to admit, I fell absolutely in love with it. The combination of the buttery biscuit with the creamy hollandaise and crab was so amazing, I inhaled this dish in a very minimal amount of time. Don't believe me? Go try it yourself!

It's located right across the Art Institute so the next time you're around the area, stop by Seven Lions and grab some brunch and then head over to the Art Institute for a wonderful day!

Now, if you know me, you know I like some good Korean food and will travel anywhere for it! Rice N' Bread is fortunately not too far, just in the neighborhood of Lakeview. It is definitely worth a trip! The kimchi burger was nice and juicy with a very good and soft bun. The dukkbokki (spicy rice cake) was also really good with a pretty significant kick!

It's a fun area to go to and if it's warm out, you should walk around the neighborhood and check out the different local stores they have there. We took a nice walk to La Boulangerie on Belmont for some macarons so if you're craving sweets, I recommend that as well!

If you ever need some amazingly fresh sushi, you should head over to Juno and have the Chef whip you up some amazing sashimi! The presentation is also fantastic and very photogenic! It was so pretty that we almost couldn't get ourselves to eat it. Almost.

It's in the Lincoln Park neighborhood so lots of choices for dessert after as well. Though, if you are curious, their pistachio dessert is quite amazing. Don't be afraid to order that if you have more room in your stomach!

It was my first time at Kanela Breakfast Club and it certainly will not be my last. This pork belly benedict was so delicious that it had me craving for more! We also had the Monkey Bread (not pictured) and if you are a fan of cinnamon and honey then you have to get that as well! Easy to pull apart and easy to devour!

The location that we went to is the Old Town location but definitely see if there is one closer to you! They have a couple locations and I hear their food is pretty consistent! You do not want to miss this spot!

High tea, anyone? This was my first experience in high tea and it certainly will not be my last. The Allis has made such a lasting impression on me that I will be back again! I absolutely loved the little details that they had and it made all of the ladies that I went with very happy! It doesn't hurt that the pastries were absolutely amazing! My favorite was the rose infused cream puff and scone. Absolutely delightful and fragrant!

This is near very many wonderful restaurants so if you are thinking about having lunch before you go or even dinner after, be warned that you might have some trouble picking! I bid you good luck!

Thank goodness for the opening of this place! I have been craving crawfish for the longest time and I was able to have a wonderful experience here. It was fresh and our server was so much fun! My favorite was actually the clams because it came in a mixture of butter, garlic, lemon and pepper. SO. DELICIOUS. This is not for the faint of heart though, so if you're a person who is not afraid to get a little dirty, this is highly recommended!

It's also a little farther up north so make sure to plan accordingly! Get a big group so you can try various things on the menu!

Amorino just opened yesterday with limited hours and I couldn't be more happy about it! I have been seeing various photos of this beautifully presented gelato and I was aching to try it and find it! The gelato itself is wonderful too! I got pistachio, marscapone, strawberry and mango. I would recommend leaving the pistachio out and pairing that with more creamy picks if you plan on trying my assortment! The marscapone goes extremely well with the sorbets though! If you're in Gold Coast, it would be wise to stop by! You won't regret it!

Yeah, I know. It's quite a bit to take in, isn't it? This just teaches me that I cannot leave you guys for too long! Otherwise, it will just be a plethora of food porn! Not saying it's a bad thing, but if you wanted that then my Instagram has plenty! Have questions? Shoot me an e-mail and I would be more than happy to speak with you! Have a wonderful weekend, you guys!

May your troubles float away into the waves of distant memory. Toodles!
